Hunter Biden has filed a lawsuit accusing IRS agents of intentionally and repeatedly sharing his private tax return information while conducting a criminal investigation into him. Biden is seeking a court declaration that the IRS unlawfully revealed his tax information and is requesting $1,000 in damages for each unauthorized disclosure.

Shapley’s legal team responded by calling the lawsuit a “frivolous smear” aimed at distracting from Hunter Biden’s legal problems. The IRS declined to comment on the lawsuit.
