Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has unveiled new processors aimed at powering artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled PCs, positioning itself in the competitive AI PC market against rivals like Nvidia and Intel. These AI PCs are equipped with processors designed for AI tasks such as real-time language translation and summarization. AMD introduced the Ryzen Pro 8040 series processors for laptops and the Ryzen Pro 8000 series processors for desktops, highlighting them as the most powerful chips yet for business PCs, built with advanced 4-nanometer technology. Set to feature in PC models from brands like HP and Lenovo starting the second quarter of 2024, these chips will directly compete with Nvidia’s and Intel’s offerings for AI PCs.
