Key Points

  • Completion of 3-D Seismic Reprocessing: Trillion Energy International Inc. has successfully completed the 3-D seismic reprocessing for the SASB gas field. The company is currently engaged in interpreting the results and integrating them with existing drilled wells. The reprocessing utilizes advanced seismic technology, offering improved data imaging for reservoir characterization, fault identification, and analysis of reservoir layers.
  • Enhancements and Discoveries from Seismic Reprocessing: The reprocessing of seismic data, particularly from the 2004 dataset, has revealed significant enhancements in data quality. The new prestack depth migration (PSDM) seismic volumes and velocity model have uncovered continuous reflectors, clearer fault cuts, amplitude preservation, and improved imaging of subsurface geology. The results have led to the identification of extensive gas-charged sand channels, especially in the D and De-E zones, surpassing the company’s earlier understanding of the SASB gas field.
  • Promising Outlook and Future Exploration: Trillion Energy’s CEO, Arthur Halleran, expressed enthusiasm about the transformative breakthrough in understanding the SASB gas field. The reprocessed seismic data has provided a clearer and more expansive vision of gas prospects, unveiling previously unseen gas-charged sand channels throughout the field. This discovery sets the stage for enhanced exploration success, validating the presence of hydrocarbons, and detecting sweet spots for new gas prospects. The company is optimistic about the promising chapter unfolding in the dynamic landscape of energy exploration.

Trillion Energy International Inc. has completed its 3-D seismic reprocessing for the SASB gas field. The company is now in the process of interpreting the results and tying the results into the existing drilled wells.

Significant improvements in seismic technology since the initial processing of the 2004 seismic data offer enhanced data imaging for reservoir characterization, faults and reservoir layers. Additionally, the new PSDM (prestack depth migration) seismic volumes and velocity model has uncovered:

  • Continuous reflectors;
  • Much clearer fault cuts;
  • Amplitude preservation;
  • Improved imaging of subsurface geology, and enhanced results of attributes, inversion and AVO (amplitude versus offset);
  • Higher quality data, allowing for clear visibility of both previously and newly discovered gas channels, revealing thin sand bodies;
  • Validation of the presence of hydrocarbons using different AVO attributes, such as intercepts, gradients, fluid factors and gas indicators;
  • Detection of sweet spots for new gas prospects.

Arthur Halleran CEO of Trillion stated:

“In the dynamic landscape of energy exploration, our reprocessed seismic data has unveiled a promising chapter for the SASB gas field. The revelation of extensive channel sands, particularly in the D and De-E zones, surpasses our earlier understanding of the field. This transformative breakthrough marks a clearer and more expansive vision of our gas prospects. The excitement is palpable as we witness the emergence of previously unseen gas-charged sand channels throughout, setting the stage for a future defined by enhanced exploration success.”
